About Us
The Dojo was founded in October 2003 after the fall festival in Dayton, Ohio.
The mission of the Dojo is to promote and teach authentic Stephen K. Hayes To-Shin Do®. We strive to assist students to develop a better understanding of themselves, what drives them and how to set goals to achieve their future and unleash their Potential.
We live in a less than perfect world with the media focusing on our ever-decaying society.
The daily images we are faced with consist of drug abuse, violent crimes and discriminative action that one person can inflict upon another.
As these types of action are still in the minority, we at To-Shin Do Liverpool & Wirral, ensure that our students are fully aware of this type of behaviour within their community. We encourage our students not to dwell on the negative aspects of our reality but to look beyond these minor sporadic incidents and through their individual contribution assist in creating a more positive stable relationship within their neighbourhood.

Dale Akitoshi Hesketh
Dale Hesketh started his martial training in 1981 studying Judo, Karate and Kick-Boxing. In 1985 Dale started searching as he felt that there had to be more to martial arts. After discovering a book by an author called Stephen K. Hayes and this obscure art of Ninjustu he realised that this was what he had been searching for.
Over the next two years Dale searched for a teacher who could teach this wondrous art. He came across many bogus instructors who claimed that they were indeed “Ninja”. Finally Dale found a personal student of Mr. Hayes and started his training in classical Ninjutsu. During the next fourteen years Dale would train with numerous teachers of the art seeking the experience and knowledge he desired.
In 2003 Dale started travelling to Dayton Ohio to study at the Dojo of An-Shu Stephen K. Hayes. As this was a new beginning for Dale he put on a new white belt to symbolise his commitment to achieving all he could from this exciting art.
Dale continues to travel to train with his teachers at the Dayton Quest Center, which is run by Shihan James Kentoshi Norris, and Shane Raitoshi Stevens.
As a Stephen K. Hayes To-Shin Do San-Dan (3rd Degree Black Belt), Dale’s main commitment for the growth of the art is to ensure that the quality and standards that he has had the opportunity to witness in America is continued across Europe.
